Coach Mike has been part of the Mesquite Basketball Program since 2021. He was known for his loyalty and commitment to the players and program. He played a key role in many of our players and coaches lives both on and off the court. Coach Mike left a long lasting mark on the people around him and is sorely missed.
R.I.P. Coach Mike

Coach Lynch enters his 35th year in education in a variety of roles including teacher, coach, administrator, and principal. He is currently in his 2nd year as the Principal of Mesquite High School. His coaching experience includes Agua Fria HS, South Mtn CC (asst), Mesa HS, Desert Ridge HS (asst), Eastmark HS, and currently Mesquite HS. This includes state championships at Mesa HS (2004) and Mesquite HS (2022). After 15 years of coaching and teaching Coach Lynch went into administration at Mesa HS. Soon after he became the principal at Williams Field HS, followed by Westwood HS in Mesa where he retired from administration. After starting the Eastmark basketball program, Coach Lynch was hired to lead the basketball program at Mesquite HS where he is in his 5th year.

Coach Lynch grew up in Aurora, CO and played basketball at Mid Plains Community College and the University of Northern Colorado. He has a B.A. in Biology from UNC and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He has been married to his wife Lisa for 35 years and has two sons Kellen (25) and Griffin (24).

Coach Ward is in his 4th year at Mesquite High School teaching Mathematics and 28th year in education. His past assignments have included teaching Math, Instructional Technology Coach and Campus Technology Director. His coaching experience includes McClintock HS JV/Freshman Head Coach Basketball, McClintock HS Varsity Head Coach Track and Field and Mesquite HS Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach. He also has coached at the youth level for several years.

Coach Ward grew up in Denver, CO and Tucson, AZ. He has a B.S. in Industrial and Applied Mathematics from The University of Arizona and M.A. in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University. He has been married to his wife Tatiana for 23 years and has two sons Darius (21) and Marcus (17).

Coach Zaz is in his 2nd year with Mesquite Basketball. Coach Zazueta lives in Mesa Arizona. He is a 2019 graduate of Arizona State University (Barrett Honors) with a M.A in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College. He has previous coaching experience at Arizona College Prep (Chandler) and Fremont Junior High (Mesa).

Adam is a passionate basketball player, and lover of collegiate basketball and its history. This is his first year in the Wildcats program.
